MUSCAT— Yahya bin Saud bin Mansour Al Sulaimi, minister of education, yesterday presided over a ceremony marking the opening of an electronic school system at Al Huda Private School, Darsait, which is the first of its kind in the Sultanate. Thereafter, a website for Al Huda Private School was launched based on Madrasty product. A documentary on the school website was also screened as part of the ceremony which included a live show on student, teacher and parent communicating via the Internet. The minister of education then toured the classes using electronic teaching in the school.

Al Sulaimi said that this experiment was unique and extended his thanks to the school administration for introducing the service, thus stressing that this step would have a great impact on the educational process. He expressed hope that other private schools will follow Al Huda Private School example, noting that the Ministry of Education has an ambitious plan that includes the Education Gate Project in addition to the on-going efforts to introduce the latest teaching technologies.
